Shahid Siddiqui

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui is Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Media Studies, Art, and Design at Lahore School of Economics. He earned his PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Toronto, Canada, an MEd. in TESOL from the University of Manchester, UK, and completed a Post-doc at Oxford University, UK. He has held academic and administrative roles at several prestigious universities, including Aga Khan University (AKU), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), and National University of Modern Languages (NUML). He served as Vice-Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from 2014 to 2018. He regularly writes on topics related to Education, Language, Gender, History, and other social issues. He is the editor of the weekly online newsletter Education and Culture in South Asia.
