- ILO/UNDP TSS1 Project on Equality and Protection of Women Workers in the Formal Sector in Fiji and Papua New Guinea, ILO/SEAPAT, Manila, 1996. Overall in-charge of this sub-regional study conducted under a common framework in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
- Philippines: Comprehensive Employment Strategy Programme: Challenge and Response, ILO/SEAPAT, Manila, 1995. Co-ordinator and Principal Author of the Report prepared as ILO’s input for the tripartite National Employment Summit organized by the Government of the Philippines and chaired by the President of the Philippines in May 1995. The Summit adopted concrete follow-up action in a number of areas which the ILO’s Report had identified after extensive consultations with the social partners and members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
- Botswana : Integrated Human Resources Development - Report of a Joint ILO/UNESCO/UNIDO mission sponsored by UNDP , ILO, Geneva, May 1993. Chief of the Inter-Agency Mission Team and author of the Final Report which was discussed at a national tripartite seminar organised in Gaborone and attended by the tripartite constituents, donor community and the academia.
- Report of the National Manpower Commission, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, 1990. As member of the Commission appointed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan attended Commissions sittings in different provincial capitals and main author of the Final Report which has played a major role in influencing Pakistan’s employment and human resource development strategy and policies in the 1990s.
- ILO/SIDA Project on Active Labour Market Policies in China, (with Chinese Ministry of Labour on initiating and monitoring labour market reforms in China) 1987-91. Co-ordinator of the Project and author of a number of studies and surveys carried out under the project. Project acknowledged by the Chinese government as one of the most successful technical co-operation activities in supporting the labour market reform process and the building up of public employment services in China.
- ILO/UNDP Asia Regional Programme on International Labour Migration, (regional and country studies component on the economic and labour market impact of out and return migration from Asian countries) 1987-91. Co-ordinator of the project component and author of a number of studies conducted. Studies were discussed with key policy makers and the social partners and played an important part in increasing awareness and adoption by relevant government agencies of suitable policy measures for channelling remittances into productive activities and reabsorption of return migrants.
- ILO/UNDP Asian Network of Human Resource Development Planning Institutes, (network of leading institutes in Asia and the Pacific working on employment and labour market issues conducting joint research and exchange of information to improve the quality of planning and utilization of human resources in the region) 1987-91. Co-ordinator of the Network covering research studies on key HRD issues in a process of globalization and structural change, training programmes for institute staff and policy makers on employment and labour market analysis and exchange of information on research and other activities of member institutes.
- ILO/World Bank Report on the Impact of Out and Return Migration on Domestic Employment and Labour Markets in Pakistan (Volume I to Volume VII) - Report for the Pakistan Planning Commission) 1986-87. Co-ordinator of the project and principal author of the Main Report). Report which was discussed in a national tripartite workshop organized jointly by the Pakistan Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance and attended by key government agencies alerted the government on the slowing down of out migration from the country, projected accurately the expected decline in remittances and made major recommendations for the productive reabsorption of return migrants. Surveys on return migrants conducted under the project have provided data set for a number of subsequent studies including for PhD candidates.
- ILO/ARTEP Report on Employment and Structural Change in Pakistan : Issues for the Eighties- Report for the Employment Chapter in Pakistan’s Sixth Five Year Plan, 1983. Co-ordinator of the studies and principal author of the Report and of the Chapter on Employment in Pakistan’s Sixth Five Year Plan (1983-88).
- ILO/ARTEP Report on Employment and Structural Change in Tonga - Issues for the Fifth Five Year Plan (1986-90) for Central Planning Office, Kingdom of Tonga, 1985. Co-ordinator and author of the Report.
