Mr. Javed Sadiq Malik joined the Lahore School of Economics as Senior Fellow at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies in 2012. Prior to joining the Lahore School, he served for forty years in the civil service during which time he held notable positions in the provincial as well as the federal government. His key service appointments in the provincial government included those of Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner and Provincial Secretary, while in the federal government he served as Federal Secretary, retiring as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. After retirement, he served as the 7th Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan.
Mr. Malik has served on the boards of the National School of Public Policy, Habib Bank Ltd., United Bank Ltd., the Pakistan-Kuwait Investment Co. and the National Commission for Human Development.
He has an AM from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and an MS in Management from the Arthur D. Little School of Management, both in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
