Zunia Saif Tirmazee
Zunia Saif Tirmazee is an Assistant Professor at the Lahore School of Economics (LSE) and a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Economics and Business (CREB). Her primary field of expertise is applied microeconomics and development economics, with a strong focus on labour markets.
Her central research interest lies in understanding the complex dynamics of gender and education as they relate to labour force participation. Specifically, her work investigates constraints to female labour force entry, examining both the supply-side (factors affecting women's decision to seek work) and demand-side (firm or market barriers to hiring women) constraints.
Her research has been published in top academic journals like Economic Development and Cultural Change and Journal of Labour Economics.
Zunia is a highly collaborative researcher, serving as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on several projects with both local and international partners. Her research has earned support through competitive international grants from prestigious organizations, including Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL), International Growth Centre (IGC) and IZA Institute of Labor Economics
