Syed Ahsan Ahmad Shah

Syed Ahsan Ahmad Shah is a Teaching Fellow at the Department of Statistics and Mathematics. For the last 15 years, he has taught various courses related to mathematics and statistics at the Lahore School of Economics. These courses include Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Mathematics III, Statistics I and Statistics II. 
He has a BSc (Hons.) in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and an MSc in Economics from LUMS also. His research interests are in the fields of industrial organization, health economics, and effectiveness of social service delivery. He has co-authored a paper on inequality in social service delivery and a working paper, discussing the implications of the proposed Corporate Rehabilitation Act.

  • Paper titled "Inter-District Inequalities in Social Service Delivery: A Rationalized Approach Towards Funds Disbursement" was co-authored with Muhammad Usman Sikander and accepted by the Pakistan Development Review (Winter 2010, Volume 49).
  • Paper titled “Investigating the Proposed Changes to Pakistan’s Corporate Bankruptcy Code” was co-authored with Syed Ali Hasanain and accepted as a CREB Working paper in 2012.
  • Paper titled “Determinants of School Choice: Evidence from rural Punjab” was co-authored with Hamna Ahmad, Sahar Amjad and Masooma Habib and accepted as a CREB Working Paper in 2013.
